How to Set Up SecureNow
Starting on June 9, 2026, your Online Banking and Mobile Banking experience will include the NEW security features.
The first time you log in to your account through our website or mobile banking app, you will be asked to set up your verification phone number and choose how you want to receive your one-time passcode (OTP) – text message or phone call.
You will then receive a message (text or voice) on your phone with a 6-digit code. Simply enter the code to complete the login process.
Please make sure we have your current phone numbers on file to ensure you receive the code.
About Your One-Time Passcode (OTP)
Text messages will arrive from short code 36397. Voice calls will come from 678-498-2706. Your 6-digit code expires in 10 minutes – enter it promptly. You can have up to 5 phone numbers saved for code delivery, and you can manage these under Settings > Security & Alerts > Manage Verification Code Delivery in online banking.
What to expect in the first few weeks: You may see more verification prompts than usual at first. This is normal – SecureNow is learning your regular login patterns. The experience becomes smoother after the initial launch period.
How SecureNow Works Going Forward
SecureNow will replace your current security challenge questions. You will only be prompted to enter a one-time passcode (OTP) when the system detects an unusual login attempt, such as from a new device or location. The OTP will be sent to your designated phone number via your preferred delivery method. Simply enter the code to complete your login.

SecureNow checks
The system analyzes your device and location in real time.
Code sent if needed

Frequently Asked Questions
What Is SecureNow?
SecureNow is an advanced cybersecurity platform that protects your online and mobile banking accounts in real time. It works intelligently behind the scenes – analyzing login signals like your device, location, and activity history to verify it's really you, while keeping out bad actors.
Why is WestEdge adding this feature?
Cyber threats targeting online banking accounts are becoming more sophisticated. SecureNow gives us – and you – a powerful, proactive defense against unauthorized access and account takeovers.
How do I set up SecureNow for online and mobile banking?
Setup is simple. Log in to your account through our website or Mobile Banking app, and follow the prompts to set up a verification phone number. You'll receive a passcode via your chosen method (text or phone call), which you'll need to enter during login.
Are the security challenge questions going away?
Yes, SecureNow will replace the current security challenge questions you have been using. Instead of answering a question, you'll receive a 6-digit code by text or voice call to verify your identity – a much more secure approach.
How will I receive my verification code?
Your 6-digit one-time passcode (OTP) will be sent to the phone number we have on file for you. You can receive it via text message from short code 36397 or as a voice call from 678-498-2706. The code expires after 10 minutes, so enter it promptly when you receive it.
Will I always have to enter a code when I log in?
No, you'll only be asked to enter the OTP when it detects something unusual – such as a login from a new device, unfamiliar location, or atypical behavior. After the initial launch period, most members will experience little to no change in their everyday login routine.
Does this affect the mobile banking app?
Yes – SecureNow protects both your web browser and our mobile app. The same verification experience applies across both.
If the OTP is requested through text, where will the SMS text message come from?
Verification codes sent via text message will come from short code 36397. If you receive a text from this number containing a 6-digit code while you are actively trying to log in, it is your legitimate SecureNow code. If you receive a code unexpectedly and you are not logging in, do not share it and contact us immediately.
If the OTP is requested through phone call, where will the call come from?
The call will come from 678-498-2706.
Will WestEdge ever call or text asking for my code?
Never. WestEdge Credit Union will never call, text, or email you asking you to share a one-time passcode (OTP). If anyone contacts you requesting your OTP or verification code, it is a scam. Hang up immediately, do not provide the code, and call us directly at 360-734-5790.
What if I don't receive my verification code?
Make sure your phone number is correct in your online banking profile. Try both the SMS text and voice call options. Still having trouble? Call us at 360-734-5790 and we'll help right away.
What if I get locked out?
If you enter the wrong code too many times, your account may be temporarily locked. Just call us at 360-734-5790 and a team member can unlock it for you quickly.
